Item 8.01 Other Events
On April 18, 2008, a federal jury awarded Alfred West $10.5 million for breach of contract and a related claim. Mr. West made a motion for an additional $4.4 million in prejudgment interest, which IDT Corporation (the “Registrant”) opposed. In previous SEC filings, the Registrant disclosed that it would take legal steps to reverse the $10.5 million award. On July 11, 2008, the Registrant and Mr. West entered into a Settlement Agreement, pursuant to which Mr. West would be paid an amount less than the $10.5 million award.
