Departure

On May
13, 2008, ALLETE, Inc. (ALLETE or Company) named Robert J. Adams it's Vice
President – Business Development and Chief Risk Officer. As Chief Risk Officer,
Mr. Adams will assume responsibility for identifying and assessing risk
broadly across the Company’s operations. Mr. Adams, 45, was named Minnesota
Power CFO and Vice President - Business Development in 2002, and ALLETE Vice
President - Utility Business Development in 2004.
