Nylas Sees Record Usage of More than 1000% as the Adoption of APIs and CPaaS Solutions Continue to Rise

Hundreds of thousands of developers in more than 40 countries are using Nylas to power integrations and innovation through millions of inboxes and calendars across the globe

Nylas, the state-of-the-art communications platform giving developers universal access to email, calendar, and contacts providers through a single API integration today announced record usage and user growth over the past 12 months. Nylas saw more than a 1000% year-over-year increase in the total number of inboxes, calendars, and contact lists leveraging Nylas APIs. The company also now has more than 250,000 developers in over 40 countries building integrations and features with Nylas, a 150% increase from the prior year. Along with a significant increase in developer usage, Nylas reached milestones for its scalability, seeing a 950% year-over-year increase in the amount of data it was able to process between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, allowing customers to harness real-time, first-party data to securely curate and build modern features, applications, and experiences for their customers.

Despite greater economic and market volatility, the adoption of CPaaS solutions and APIs continues to rise. According to the State of API Report from Postman, 89% of global respondents expect their investments in APIs to increase or stay the same over the next 12 months, while the global CPaaS market is expected to grow from $12.5 billion in 2022 to $45.3 billion by 2027.

“We’re currently seeing businesses of all sizes and across all industries and geographies striving for speed, efficiency, and predictability. In order to accomplish these goals, leaders are increasingly turning to developers and their technical teams in order to build innovative and secure solutions and workflows that can maximize output for both end users as well as internal teams,” said Gleb Polyakov, Co-Founder & CEO, Nylas. “Nylas is uniquely positioned to help both developers and enterprises with these challenges and as a result has been able to see record usage and adoption growth rates. It is incredibly exciting to see more and more developers around the world making our APIs a critical part of their toolkit.”

Some notable examples of how developers are using Nylas’ email and calendar APIs include:

  • Helped Dialpad build full integrations for Gmail, Office 365, and all versions of Microsoft Exchange in just two days and with one engineer, saving them hundreds of hours of ongoing technical maintenance.
  • Partnered with Upwork to enhance CSAT scores and accelerate growth through modern scheduling solutions.
  • Enabling the CIENCE Technologies team to move faster and freeing up 50% of their time by helping them to expedite their bi-directional email integration in just a few engineering sprints and increasing employee productivity by 200%.

Nylas’ record usage and user growth comes on the heels of receiving numerous badges in G2’s CPaaS and Business Scheduling Software Winter Reports. Along with its G2 badges, Nylas closed out 2022 with recognition across the 2022 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, the Inc. 5000 for a third consecutive year, and Forbes America’s Best Startup Employers 2022.
