In flood-prone regions worldwide, traditional housing designs often fall short in safeguarding communities against the devastating impacts of rising water levels. Recognizing this critical need for innovation, D.Invent has developed a cutting-edge solution that combines advanced engineering with eco-friendly principles to create resilient homes. The company’s revolutionary new flood-adapted housing solution provides homeowners with specially designed functionalities for their houses to achieve permanent flood safety and resilience.

“The decision to establish D.Invent and start developing the Flood-Adapted Housing Technology came during the devastating flood disaster in NSW, Australia in 2022. In that disaster, the flood level exceeded the maximum forecast level by experts by more than 2 meters, causing destructive damages to more than 1,400 homes,” says co-founder Duy Nguyen on the inspiration behind the project. “When I witnessed with my own eyes how destructive the flood had caused to NSW community, not only did we know we needed to act immediately to solve the problem, but we also came up with the very first concept of a world-first flood-adapted house.”

D.Ivent’s groundbreaking solution is designed to be both affordable and long-lasting. The company has created 3 sample homes showcasing the many features available using their groundbreaking technology and hardware including:

• Guided Floatability- Automatically adapts to flood water, then descends to original position when flood water recedes.
• Hybrid Functionality- Serves in both flood and dry conditions.
• Self-Balance and Self-Stabilization- Automatically maintains balance and stability while floating.

“We believe that there is no other comparative solution for flood safety and resilience. We really wish there were, so that communities everywhere would not have suffered that much.
