PRLog - June 5, 2015 - RESTON, Va. -- Vision III Imaging, Inc. announces the release of its long awaited MVC camera file splitter software application. We designed our MVC Splitter as a standalone software tool that allows consumer and prosumer 3D camcorder users to convert their stereoscopic camera files into individual left and right views for editing. The MVC Splitter supports processing in different color spaces and batch processing into various output video formats. The MVC Splitter also allows you to output as individual side-by-side frames which can be imported into editing applications like Premiere Pro to maintain high quality.

A v3 MVC Splitter license can be purchased for $100.00. A trial version can be downloaded and used for 7-days. The trial version allows you to convert 5% of your camera file to test the software’s compatibility with your particular 3D camera’s recording format. Batch processing is not available with the trial version.

About the MVC Standard

The common video file standard for consumer 3D camcorders is the Multiview Video Coding (MVC). MVC format was designed for encoding stereoscopic (two-view) video. Stereoscopic Blu-ray movie discs and several consumer 3D camcorders use the MVC 3D video standard standard. This includes Sony, Panasonic and JVC among others. Unfortunately, only a few video editing programs are capable of reading (loading) the MVC stereoscopic format. Adobe Premiere Pro does not natively read the MVC stereoscopic format and therefore the current QS3D Plug-ins (Lite, Pro and X) cannot edit 3D MVC camcorder videos.

Postproduction editing applications like Premiere Pro will only load the left channel of an MVC video. The Company has licensed the rights to the MVC stereoscopic standard from the patent holders. This has allowed the Company to develop and release its MVC Splitter and add it to the existing line of Premiere Pro/After Effects v3 stereoscopic workflow plug-ins which include the GPU accelerated Quick S3DX (QS3DX) (OpenCL or Cuda) and the Parallax Visualization (PV) Toolset for sub-pixel perfect left/right image alignment and convergence.
