This year marks its second consecutive year with a powerful weekend of motivational keynote sessions, informative panels and workshops, networking opportunities, and other worthwhile educational activities.

Several dynamic, nationally-known and well-respected attorneys will serve as featured keynote speakers, and share powerful words of wisdom, encouragement and stories of their own personal paths to success.  This year's extraordinary lineup includes Juan Cartagena, Esq., President and General Counsel, LatinoJustice PRLDEF (New York, New York), Pedro J. Torres-Diaz, Esq., President, Hispanic National Bar Association and Principal, San Juan Office, Jackson Lewis of Puerto Rico LLC and Principal, Miami Office, Jackson Lewis P.C. Moreover, pre-law attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the signature one-on-one admissions and preparation advice help clinic, get help with resumes and personal statements during the practical assistance session, and receive tips during the professional success coaching session.  Law school aspirants can make connections and create the start of accountability partnerships during informal networking icebreakers and social mixers.  They will also be able to meet with representatives from well over 100 law schools and organizations at the Law School Recruitment Fair.  The conference will end on a high note with the Aspiring Lawyers Pinning Ceremony whereby aspiring lawyers recite a success plan and current lawyers pin them with eagle pendants as a sign of support to express the community's faith, high expectations and confidence in them and to stress the fact that more Latino lawyers are needed and that they have a responsibility to give back and serve.

For registrants who come a day early, they will have the opportunity to tour eight different New York City area law schools including Columbia Law School, Fordham University School of Law, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, New York Law School, Brooklyn Law School, City University of New York School of Law, St. John's University School of Law, and Hofstra University School of Law.  For those who stay a day later, they will have the chance to take in the incredible sights and sounds of New York City, the nation's largest city, during a group tour day with fellow conference attendees and their future accountability partners and colleagues.

Conference organizational and community partners are the New York City Bar Association Office for Diversity and Inclusion, the New York University Latino Law Students Association, the Latino Lawyers of Queens County, the Dominican Bar Association, the Puerto Rican Bar Association,  the New York University Law Alumni of Color Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association – Region II, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, Ms. JD, DiscoverLaw.org, Legal Services NYC, and the American Constitution Society for Law & Policy.

Only about 7% of law students and 4% of all lawyers are classified as Latino.  However, they make up over 17% of the population and are the fastest growing population in the nation.  Therefore, the need for greater Latino and minority representation and meaningful diversity and inclusion in American law schools and in the legal profession remains high.

All aspiring lawyers are encouraged to register and attend this intensive, inspirational and impactful conference.  High school students, college students and graduates, working professionals, career changers, multicultural, career and pre-law advisors, as well as supporters and parents are all invited to take advantage of the amazing benefits this conference offers.  Admission is completely free of charge and open to the public.  Everyone is welcome.  Space is limited, therefore online registration prior to the days of the event is strongly encouraged.  As long as space is available, walk-in registrants will be accommodated.
