Mnuchin says White House wants $1,000 checks for adults to help during coronavirus fight

The Trump administration wants to send $1,000 checks to most adults and $500 for each child to help families endure economic hardship in the next few weeks as the U.S. seeks to contain the coronavirus epidemic, the U.S. Treasury secretary said Thursday.
