COVID Survivor and Emmy Nominee Designs New Merchandise

Trevor Dow was motivated to design the line after battling COVID-19 and being in isolation for 3 weeks. Part of the proceeds of his line will be donated to Mental Health America.

LOS ANGELES - Sept. 16, 2020 - PRLog -- Daytime Emmy nominated Designer, Actor, Musician, Social Media Personality...Trevor Dow holds many titles. One of the most significant in 2020, though, is COVID-19 survivor.

While he was fortunate with only having mild physical symptoms, the emotional toll of three weeks of isolation had a lasting impact. He came forward and shared his journey in battling COVID-19 with his honest and raw COVID-EO Daily Log that tracked his progress following his positive diagnosis and is now using his platform to educate people about the mental health impacts of COVID-19…whether you've had a positive diagnosis or not.

"The vast and rapid change in every day life because of COVID-19 is impacting us all," Dow shared. "Even if you haven't had to deal with COVID-19 directly, we're all facing a lot of change and uncertainty which has a direct impact on our mental health."

Trevor designed this special collection with one goal in mind: to reflect the strength and resilience of everyone in the world who is working together during this pandemic by helping each other, staying positive and showing empathy whenever we can.

There are 4 themes that feature Trevor's seamless blend of compassion, humor and a touch of sarcasm:

  1. COVID Conqueror: Two strong designs that declare the wearer is conquering COVID either through a positive diagnosis or by wearing a mask, social distancing and taking precautions.
  2. COVIDIOT: Quite simply, a "Covidiot" is someone who isn't taking precautions to protect themselves and others from the virus. One design features a dictionary-style definition that Dow wrote and the other a text bubble that simply states "Don't Be a Covidiot".
  3. Mask It or Casket: A spooky mask and shirt design just in time for Halloween!
  4. Lead with Empathy: Dow's strongest message is one of empathy and compassion. His acronym "MEMA" stands for "Make Empathy Matter Again" and his personal slogan "Lead With Empathy" comes through in his upbeat personality and how he navigates the world.
"Kindness is so important and if we all are just nice and empathetic to one another, we can get through anything," Dow said.

Dow's line is available now through his production partner, Our Virtual Holiday, who found Dow after his viral TikTok video about wearing a mask.

"We have a fun character as part of our brand named the Mask Debater Hero who gives awards to people across the social media who advocate wearing a mask," owner of Our Virtual Holiday, James Brandon said. "We gave Trevor one of the awards and started talking to him about designing something special after hearing his story. He's a strong positive presence that we need in the world and we're excited to partner with him on this journey".

20% of the profits of every purchase will be donated to Mental Health America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and to promoting the overall mental health of all Americans.
