LOS ANGELES - March 2, 2021 - PRLog -- The Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) Collaborative's Executive Director Dr. Wilma Franco will join host Jackeline Cacho on Facebook Live @jackycachotv at 1pm Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Berenice Núñez Constant, Vice President of Government Affairs & Civic Engagement at AltaMed and Joe Martinez, Executive Director of Hub Cities Consortium will join as guest speakers. The event is sponsored by Optimum Seismic.

The SELA Agenda was a collective effort "born from a multi-year, collaboration and convening of SELA nonprofit leaders and stakeholders," stated Dr. Wilma Franco. "It addresses the impact of COVID-19 in Southeast LA by highlighting investment opportunities in eight policy areas: education, environmental justice, economic recovery, healthcare, housing, nonprofit safety net, civic engagement and regional advocacy."

The goal is that The SELA Agenda will be used as a foundational plan by elected officials, philanthropy, business sector, and community stakeholders to address inequalities worsened by COVID-19 and ensure SELA's regional and long term prosperity.

"The broader vision is to see real and meaningful investment in SELA using a systems change perspective grounded on the expertise of SELA Leaders. It is a beautiful example of collaboration in SELA," noted Dr. Franco. "By connecting and working collaboratively with SELA stakeholders we hope to elevate our needs to critical decisionmakers at the local, state, and national levels."

Those looking to support Southeast LA and The SELA Agenda can watch the Facebook Live event on Wednesday at 1pm PST and share the report with their friends, community and local legislatures.
