Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Erlanger Behavioral Health is a state-of-the-art behavioral health hospital that serves residents in southeastern Tennessee and surrounding regions. The hospital provides compassionate care and hope for patients, aged 12 and older, with a wide array of behavioral health diagnoses.

This is the first major bed expansion since the hospital’s opening in 2018. These additional beds will be operational in December and increase access to acute behavioral healthcare for adults and older adults in need throughout the area.

“We are very pleased to expand our facility to help meet the growing behavioral health needs of our area residents,” said Robin Weagley, chief executive officer of Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital. “With the expansion of a new satellite location and an increase in our bed capacity to 144 beds, we will be able to extend healing more broadly throughout our communities. I want to thank the entire hospital staff and our partners for their commitment and hard work.”

“Since Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital opened in 2018, it has provided life-changing services to thousands of residents in our community,” said Jim Coleman, president and chief executive officer of Erlanger. “The hospital, in collaboration with Erlanger, has provided comprehensive services that treat the whole patient. This expansion is an exciting moment for our partnership, as together we continue to invest in the future of our communities.”

“We take great pride in the ongoing success and growth of this hospital,” said Chris Hunter, chief executive officer of Acadia Healthcare. “Every day we continue working to eliminate the stigma around mental illness, overcome fear and misunderstanding, and make sure all those coping with behavioral health issues know they are not alone. Unfortunately, too many people who grapple with behavioral health illnesses are still suffering in silence. This hospital through its two locations will continue to be a beacon to those in need and provide exceptional quality of care in safe and welcoming environments.”
