More severe weather is forecast in California, bringing strong winds and heavy rain as light-to-moderate snow is expected in the northern Plains and upper Midwest through Thursday.

Another powerful storm will move into the West, spreading high winds, heavy rain and feet of snow across California and into the Southwest.
