Pat Williams, general manager of last 76ers championship team, dies at 84

During his 12 years as general manager, Williams traded for Julius Erving, Moses Malone and Bobby Jones and drafted Maurice Cheeks and Andrew Toney — the core of the 1983 championship team. He then drafted Charles Barkley before leaving the team to co-found the Orlando Magic.
